So, the camera on my phone > my real camera. I don't understand, but just know that all of the above pictures were taken while driving (and we all know how I drive, so you can imagine the speeds) on my phone.
I think, at the moment, I actually have a favourite-favourite song. It's The Bleeding Heart Show, by the New Pornographers. The way it sounds is amazing. I love songs that give me the feeling this one does. A brief (hah) list of the ones that have a similar effect (but do not necessarily invoke the same emotions), in case you are interested:
I Love Music and Never Let Down, both by Mr. AWK.
Glycerine, by Bush (shutup.)
Save, by The Rocket Summer.
Overture, by Patrick Wolf.
Hurt, in every version I've ever listened to.
The Crane Wife 3, by The Decemberists.
Now We Are Free, from the Gladiator Soundtrack.
Life, by Devin Townsend.
The Trapeze Swinger, by Iron and Wine.
Awake as If From Slumber, by Arcanta.
Lullaby, by Shawn Mullins (again, shutup.)
ANYTHING (but mostly Eastern Glow) by The Album Leaf. They create wonderful "feeling" music. I listen when I need to ruminate.
Don't Save Us From the Flames, by M83.
Someday You Will be Loved, by Death Cab for Cutie.
THE LAKE, BY AQUALUNG, an amazing amazing amazing song.
Buildings, Samson, and Oedipus, by Regina Spektor.
Time to Pretend, by MGMT.
Amour and Ohne Dich by Rammstein.
Any song off of the Halo Star album by black tape for a blue girl.
Boats and Birds, by gregoRy and the hawK.
Drip Drip by Comus.
NOVEMBER, BY DIVINITY DESTROYED.
CHEMICALS, by Diary of Dreams.
Burn, by the Cure. (probably all-time favourite song, no contest.)
IT CAN'T RAIN ALL THE TIME, BY JANE SIBERRY. This song produces so much emotion that I have not listened to it in 3 years.
The Dead Flag Blues, by Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls.
The Captain, by Guster.
Letter to Dana, by Sonata Arctica.
God's Gonna Cut You Down, by Johnny Cash.
No Woman No Cry, by Bob Marley.
CAPTAIN JACK, by BILLY JOEL. Probably 2nd favourite song of all time, ever amen.
FULL CIRCLE, BY LOREENA MCKENNITT. EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS SOME TIME IN THEIR LIFE.
Also, Prospero's Speech, The Mystic's Dream, and the Old Ways, all by Loreena McKennitt.
There are many more. A random list, to be sure. If I had a list of "required listening," almost all of these songs would be on there. Someday soon I'll actually make a short list of required listening, haha. All of you should, too! And we can exchange and become enlightened and such. (:
